Curtis Jones was the standout player, delivering what could be considered one of his finest performances against the Blues.

In addition to scoring the decisive goal, the Liverpool academy product earned the penalty that allowed Salah to open the scoring at Anfield.

Jones further impressed with his ability to connect play in midfield, applying constant pressure and rarely losing possession.

Morrison loved what he saw from Jones, telling Sky Sports News (22/10/2024, 7:16pm): “This young man comes into the team, Curtis Jones, who hasn’t been playing.

The 23-year-old further demonstrated his skills by delivering two long balls, registering two shots on target, completing one dribble, and winning six out of eight ground duels.

Additionally, Jones contributed defensively with three tackles, one interception, and one block against Enzo Maresca’s team.

What’s Next for Liverpool?

Liverpool’s next match is on Wednesday night against RB Leipzig in the Champions League.

The match is set to begin at 8 PM at Leipzig’s Red Bull Arena, and it’s likely that Jones will once again be in the starting lineup for the Reds.
