“What a Playaaaa” – Man City & Real Madrid Stars Blown Away by What Liverpool Ace Trent Alexander-Arnold Did Against Finland

Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold, typically a right-back, was positioned at left-back by interim England manager Lee Carsley during Sunday night’s Nations League match against Finland.

The Reds defender impressed, scoring the second goal in a 3-1 victory for the Three Lions and earning the Man of the Match title.

This marks the third time in four matches that the Anfield star has claimed the Man of the Match award under Carsley’s management.

His standout performance, which included a stunning free-kick goal, drew praise from Manchester City’s Jack Grealish and Real Madrid’s Jude Bellingham, who both reacted to the display on Instagram.

The Manchester City forward disclosed after the match that he had placed a bet with the Liverpool defender shortly before the free-kick.

He offered to give him £500 if he managed to score, and it seemed like the 26-year-old was eager to prove his point to his teammate.

The Premier League leaders will return to action next Sunday when they welcome Chelsea. Alexander-Arnold will be keen to continue his impressive performance, aiming to build on his display against the Blues.

In the 2024-25 season, the Liverpool academy graduate has showcased excellent form, recording two assists in nine appearances across the Premier League and Champions League.

Liverpool are hoping to secure a new contract with him before January, as his current deal expires at the end of the season. From January, he will be free to negotiate with other clubs when the winter transfer window opens.

Earlier in the week, Alexander-Arnold expressed his concern about the possibility of never winning another major trophy at the club level.

Manager Arne Slot recognises that securing significant titles this season could improve the club’s chances of retaining the England international.

Liverpool will aim to contend strongly for both the domestic league and the Champions League. Having Alexander-Arnold in peak form could significantly enhance their chances, as his abilities can be a decisive factor in winning crucial matches.
