FSG Now Ready to Pay £80m+ to Bring “Incredible” Prospect Likened to Messi to Liverpool in 2025
Liverpool’s pursuit of an “incredible” player, often compared to Lionel Messi, has intensified, according to a fresh transfer reports.
Despite the transfer window closing weeks ago, the Reds remain linked to potential new signings, as Arne Slot aims to strengthen a squad already filled with top-tier talent.
One player Liverpool have shown interest in is Fulham’s left-back Antonee Robinson. Having previously been a target, Robinson has reemerged as a potential signing, with Liverpool looking to outbid rivals Manchester United for his signature in 2025.
With Andy Robertson now 30 years old and perhaps not as dominant as he once was, the club are seeking a long-term successor.
Liverpool are also reportedly monitoring Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez, who represents Hungary alongside Dominik Szoboszlai at the international level. Manchester United is similarly interested, which may lead to competition for his services.
Additionally, former Liverpool target Nicolo Barella is once again being linked with a move to Anfield in upcoming transfer windows. The Italian midfielder is seen as an ideal fit for the profile Slot is looking to add to his squad.
Liverpool Ready to Splash the Cash on “Incredible” Bayer Leverkusen Star
A fresh report from CaughtOffside reveals that Liverpool remain interested in signing Bayer Leverkusen’s standout player Florian Wirtz, after previously expressing interest in him.
The Reds’ willingness to snap up the 21-year-old is believed to be “strengthening”, with the Germany international “understood to be open to a move to the Premier League” and the Reds now “xpected to be willing to pay the €100m required”, which is roughly £83.5m.
Wirtz would be an outstanding signing for Liverpool, following his remarkable performances for Leverkusen during their Bundesliga title-winning campaign last season.
The Germany international contributed 15 goals and 15 assists across both the league and the Europa League, securing the Bundesliga title and helping Leverkusen reach the Europa League final.
Leverkusen manager Xabi Alonso has even drawn comparisons between Wirtz and Messi, specifically highlighting his decision-making and passing abilities. Back in May, Joe Cole also shared his praise for the young talent:
“Incredible. I’ve watched him three times this year now and he’s blown me away every time. He’s got a South American flair with a German efficiency about him.
“We’ve all heard of Jude Bellingham, Cole Palmer and Phil Foden, and Musiala. This lad will be new to the British viewers. Let me tell you, he is every bit as talented as those players. He could go on to be anything.”
At just 21 years old, Wirtz’s potential seems boundless, and he could bring a new dynamic to Liverpool’s attack.
He could compete with Szoboszlai for minutes in an attacking midfield role, while also excelling on the left wing when needed.
However, prying him away from Leverkusen won’t be simple, as they will be eager to retain their star player.
Additionally, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich present strong alternatives for his future, but he should still be viewed as a top priority for Liverpool.
