Liverpool on High Alert as Ryan Gravenberch Urges Dutch Midfield Teammate to Join Him at Anfield

During their final training camp before the international break ended, Ryan Gravenberch subtly hinted that Feyenoord midfielder Quinten Timber should consider joining him at Liverpool.

In an interview with Dutch media outlet NOS, Timber was asked if he intended to remain at Feyenoord for the entirety of his career. As Gravenberch walked by, he suggested that a move to Liverpool would be a better fit for Timber.

Having spent his entire career in the Dutch Eredivisie, Timber has previously played under the coaching of Arne Slot at Feyenoord. It is reported that the Liverpool manager is a great admirer of the player.

Earlier this year, during the opening of the transfer window, rumours surfaced that the Dutch international was set to move to Anfield. However, those reports did not lead to any concrete action.

Despite this, with Gravenberch reportedly involved in some behind-the-scenes efforts to influence the player, there is a possibility that the two might join forces in midfield for both club and country in the near future.

At just 23 years old, Timber aligns perfectly with the age profile of Liverpool’s recent transfer targets.

A New Addition to Liverpool’s Dutch Contingent?

Timber’s versatility in playing across various midfield roles makes him a valuable asset for Arne Slot’s adaptable squad. Given their previous working relationship, the potential reunion between the two could prove highly successful.

During his impressive season with Feyenoord last year, Timber contributed to 16 goals and played a key role in securing the club’s qualification for the Champions League.

Although Feyenoord missed out on the Eredivisie title to PSV, losing only one game, Timber’s influence was undeniable.

Liverpool, in need of midfield reinforcements, may find themselves interested in Timber, especially after missing out on Martin Zubimendi earlier this summer.

With Wataru Endo currently not fitting into Slot’s plans, Liverpool’s existing Dutch connections might play a role in attracting Timber to the club.

Since signing Virgil van Dijk in 2018, Liverpool has brought in two more Dutch players—Cody Gakpo and Ryan Gravenberch—all of whom have become key figures in the team.

Under the guidance of Dutch manager Arne Slot, Liverpool could soon be welcoming another talent from the Netherlands to Anfield.
