“Got Everything”: James Pearce Says “Unbelievable” Liverpool Star Could Soon Be a “£120m” Player If He Improves One Thing

Liverpool forward Luis Diaz has the potential to become a £120m player if he enhances his effectiveness in the final third, according to The Athletic journalist James Pearce.

During an appearance on the Walk On podcast, Pearce lauded Diaz for his strong start to the Premier League season. The Colombian forward has already contributed three goals and one assist in just three appearances for the Reds.

Diaz delivered an outstanding performance in Liverpool’s recent victory over Manchester United, scoring twice and marking one of his best displays since joining the club.

Liverpool legend John Aldridge described Diaz as “unbelievable,” highlighting his ability to be in the right place at the right time.

This knack for positioning allowed Diaz to secure a comfortable lead for Liverpool by halftime, a development that has delighted Arne Slot, who has been focusing on refining Diaz’s game since his arrival at Anfield this summer.

According to MailOnline, Slot had identified Diaz before the season as a player with untapped potential. He has since been working closely with the Colombian to improve his off-ball movement and shooting timing.

“Just needs composure in the final third”

On the Walk On podcast, Pearce mentioned that Slot’s efforts with Diaz are already showing results, evident in his strong start to the season.

“When you think that we’re at the start of September and he’s already got three in three, that end product, I think, is the difference between him being a £100million footballer and probably a £120million footballer.

“Because he’s got everything else, and he just needs that composure in the final third. And you know, whatever Slot is doing with him on the training field at the minute seems to be working.”

Following a somewhat lackluster season under Jurgen Klopp, there were rumours suggesting that Luis Diaz might leave Liverpool. Reports even surfaced indicating that Barcelona had shown interest in signing the Colombian winger.

However, just last month, Liverpool’s manager, Arne Slot, addressed these speculations, dismissing any talks of Diaz leaving Anfield. Slot also expressed his confidence in Diaz, predicting that the 27-year-old would have a significant influence on the team in the upcoming season.

Diaz has certainly lived up to these expectations in the early stages of the new campaign. He contributed to both of Liverpool’s goals in the match against Brentford and played a crucial role in their recent victory over Manchester United.

If Diaz maintains this level of performance, he could surpass his statistics from last season well before Christmas. In the previous campaign, under Klopp, the Colombian managed to score eight goals and provided five assists.
