“Work is Underway” – Reporter Says Agent Has Now Held Meeting for “Special” Player to join Liverpool This Week

Liverpool have successfully completed their first signing of the summer, and there may be another major signing in the pipeline for Arne Slot by the week’s end.

The Reds have been pursuing a deal for goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili, with an intriguing plan in mind.

Liverpool’s strategy involved signing Mamardashvili and then loaning him back to Valencia for a year, with the intention of officially starting his Anfield career in 2025.

This deal has now been finalised, with the goalkeeper—who has been praised as ‘outstanding’ by Georgia coach David Webb—secured for the future.

Mamardashvili is apparently seen as the successor to Alisson as Liverpool’s primary goalkeeper, and the Brazilian has reportedly approved of the move.

While this is an excellent signing for the future, Liverpool fans are eager for immediate reinforcements—and that might just happen this week.

Liverpool Pursuing Federico Chiesa

Liverpool have emerged as the leading contender to sign Juventus winger Federico Chiesa.

Juventus have decided to part ways with Chiesa this summer to avoid losing him for free when his contract expires next summer.

Reports now suggest that Liverpool are ‘confident’ in their ability to secure Chiesa, who is reportedly very enthusiastic about the prospect of joining the Reds.

According to Sky Italia journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Chiesa’s agent, Fali Ramadani, met with Juventus sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli for dinner on Tuesday night.

Di Marzio reports that the meeting was part of ongoing efforts to facilitate Chiesa’s move from Turin to Merseyside.

“Dinner in progress between Giuntoli and Fali Ramadani, agent of Chiesa. Work is underway to transfer the Italy international to Liverpool,” said Di Marzio.

Liverpool appear to consider Federico Chiesa as an excellent market opportunity.

At 26 years old, Chiesa has proven to be a formidable winger at his peak, but he is currently in the final year of his contract with Juventus, which opens the door for a reduced transfer fee.

David Ornstein reports that Juventus are seeking around €15 million (£12.7 million) for Chiesa, as they aim to sell him before his contract expires and he leaves on a free transfer.

This fee is quite affordable for Liverpool, and the club are eager to offer Chiesa a four-year contract at Anfield.

Chiesa, potentially seen as a successor to Mohamed Salah, has received significant acclaim throughout his career. Former Tottenham Hotspur director Fabio Paratici even referred to him as ‘special’ during a 2021 interview with Gazzetta dello Sport.

A serious knee injury in 2022 hindered Chiesa’s progress, but Liverpool might believe that he has the potential to return to his best form in the Premier League.
