Liverpool Employ Smart Transfer Strategy Again as “Advanced talks” Hold Over Youngster Move
Liverpool’s transfer activity is heating up as the summer window approaches its final days, with the Reds involved in both incoming and outgoing deals.
The closing days of the window are likely to be busy for Liverpool, marking a shift from what has been a relatively quiet period for new manager Arne Slot. Despite initial frustrations in the transfer market, things could be about to change for Slot and his team.
One significant setback for Slot was the decision by key target Martin Zubimendi to remain with Real Sociedad, turning down a move to Anfield. This left Liverpool as the only Premier League club yet to make a signing since the season ended.
However, recent reports suggest that Liverpool are now eyeing Juventus winger Federico Chiesa. Speculation is rife that the club are preparing to make an offer for the Italian international, with Juventus reportedly willing to sell for a fee in the region of £10 million.
In addition to potential signings, there have been developments regarding possible player departures ahead of Friday’s deadline. Newsnow Liverpool has rounded up the latest stories circulating around Anfield over the past 24 hours.
Liverpool in “Advanced” Transfer Talks
Liverpool are reportedly in “advanced” discussions with Red Bull Salzburg regarding a potential loan move for Stefan Bajcetic, as per Fabrizio Romano. The journalist indicates that negotiations have reached the final stages, with a deal nearing completion.
If finalized, the agreement would see Bajcetic link up with former Liverpool assistant manager Pep Lijnders, who became Salzburg’s head coach this summer.
Lijnders has already leveraged his connections with Liverpool by securing a permanent transfer for Bobby Clark.
Earlier this summer, the 19-year-old Bajcetic joined the Austrian club for a fee of approximately £10 million.
Should the loan move proceed, both Bajcetic and Clark are likely to compete for a starting spot in the Salzburg squad throughout the season.
Transfer Confirmed
Liverpool and Blackburn Rovers have confirmed that full-back Owen Beck has signed a season-long loan deal with Blackburn.
The Wales U21 international had an impressive spell on loan at Dundee last season, earning a spot in the Scottish PFA Team of the Year.
Beck attracted interest from several clubs this summer, but Blackburn emerged as the successful bidder.
This move further strengthens the positive relationship between the two clubs, which have seen several young talents make temporary moves to Ewood Park in recent years.
Harvey Elliott, Tyler Morton, and Billy Koumetio are among those who have spent time at Blackburn as part of their development. Beck is now the seventh Liverpool player to secure a loan move this summer.
