Liverpool Wonderkid Breaks Impressive “World Record” in Skill Challenge with Diaz, Nunez and A New Athletico Madrid’s Player

Several young Liverpool players are looking to capitalize on the club’s limited transfer activity to secure a spot in Arne Slot’s first-team plans this season.

Among these hopefuls, one academy star has recently demonstrated his extraordinary abilities by setting an astonishing ‘world record.’

Kieran Morrison, a 17-year-old midfielder, was involved in the early stages of pre-season training under the Dutch manager before departing to represent Northern Ireland in the Under-19 European Championships.

A video showcasing Morrison’s skills has since gone viral on social media, capturing the attention of many. His impressive performance saw him surpass several first-team players to claim a remarkable achievement.

Morrison Breaks World Record in Less Than Five Seconds

In a promotional video featured on Adidas’ YouTube channel, Morrison was presented with a challenge to hit all three parts of the goal frame—specifically, the two posts and the crossbar—as quickly as possible.

This challenge has gained popularity on social media, with numerous footballers and influencers participating in similar attempts.

Morrison approached the challenge confidently, managing to strike both the left-hand post and the crossbar on his first two tries. He believed he had completed the challenge on his third attempt when his shot, aimed at the top right corner, seemed to have grazed the upright.

Initially, he was instructed to continue, resulting in him hitting the post on his second follow-up attempt, completing the task in 8.36 seconds.

However, after reviewing the footage, it was confirmed that Morrison’s first shot did indeed connect with the inside of the post. Consequently, his final time was adjusted to 4.76 seconds, establishing a new world record. The previous record, held by Bayern Munich’s promising player Adin Licina, stood at 7.72 seconds.

Trey Nyoni’s Impressive Attempt

The highly touted attacker also put on a strong showing.

If it weren’t for the review of Morrison’s attempt, the record would have gone to another young Reds player, Trey Nyoni. The 17-year-old forward has been gaining attention at Anfield recently.

His pre-season performances were impressive, highlighted by a stunning goal in the club’s final summer friendly against Sevilla at Anfield.

During the challenge, Nyoni missed his first attempt but quickly recovered by hitting three consecutive targets, finishing in 6.2 seconds. This time would have also been enough to surpass the alleged previous record.

Compared to his teammates, the young prodigy was nearly three times faster than Darwin Nunez, while Colombian Luiz Diaz failed to hit all three parts of the goalframe after using all of his attempts.

Julian Alvarez, the new star of Atletico Madrid, also made an attempt, finishing it in 15.28 seconds, nearly 10 seconds slower than Nyoni’s time.
