Mohamed Salah Makes “Very Different” Arne Slot Admission After Liverpool Beat Ipswich

Mohamed Salah has admitted that life under new manager Arne Slot is “quite different” compared to his former boss Jurgen Klopp.

This admission came after Salah played a crucial role in Liverpool’s 2-0 victory against Ipswich on the first day of the Premier League season at Portman Road, where he both scored and provided an assist. Remarkably, Salah’s goal marked his ninth on an opening day in the Premier League, a feat unmatched by any other player.

Reflecting on the transition, Salah noted the distinct changes under Liverpool’s new manager, Arne Slot, in comparison to the style and approach of the previous manager, Jurgen Klopp.

This observation followed his standout performance in the 2-0 triumph over Ipswich during the Premier League’s opening weekend.

In the match, Salah assisted Diogo Jota in opening the score at Portman Road shortly after the second half began. He later found the back of the net himself, contributing to a commanding second-half display by Liverpool.

Salah’s goal set a new Premier League record, marking the ninth time he has scored on the opening day of the season.

“I’m glad we won today, it’s always great to make an impact for the team and win the game, that’s the most important thing,” Salah told TNT Sports at full time.

“I don’t know why i have so much success on the first day of the season but hopefully I can continue it for the full season and not just the first game!

“I’m always trying to help the team – the most important thing is that the team wins the game. I’m always keen to score goals and provide assists so I need to carry on.”

Liverpool began the match slowly, struggling to create opportunities in the first half against a determined Ipswich side that had recently been promoted from the Championship. However, the visitors picked up the pace in the second half, controlling much of the action during the final 45 minutes.

“It’s definitely tough to play a newly promoted team, especially at their home, it’s very tough,” Salah added.

“First game of the season and the club is always up for it. We’ve played a long time in the Premier League so we are experienced and expected a tough game.”

The match was Arne Slot’s debut as Liverpool’s manager in a competitive setting, succeeding Jurgen Klopp, who left the club at the end of last season.

“It’s been quite different. Jurgen was here for eight years, he gave everything,” Salah said.
“Now we have a new manager, a new system, it’s very different for us.

“We need to adapt and take it step by step to learn his way to play and enjoy our football. We just need to play football and enjoy our games, and then we’ll see.”
