Conor Bradley Ready for Trent Alexander-Arnold Challenge as He Reveals Hopes for Next Season

Liverpool right-back Conor Bradley has shared his hopes for the upcoming season and his initial impressions of adjusting to life under new coach Arne Slot.

In an interview with journalist Declan Carr, Bradley discussed his experiences after playing a full 90 minutes against Las Palmas in a friendly on Sunday.

The conversation covered Bradley’s remarkable progress since the beginning of the year, concerns about injuries, and the influence of Slot’s new coaching techniques and style of play.

Bradley’s rise to prominence was notably fueled by Trent Alexander-Arnold’s severe knee injury, which kept him out of action earlier in the year.

Bradley seized the opportunity, making 23 appearances for Liverpool during the 2023/24 season and scoring a notable goal in a 4-1 victory over Chelsea.

On competing with Alexander-Arnold, Bradley admitted: “Obviously, everyone knows how good Trent is and how good of a right-back he is but I’ve just got to keep working on my game and keep trying to improve myself.

“I’m still young so there’s still plenty of improvements to be made, but I’m going to keep working hard and whenever I do get the chance I’m going to try and take it.”

Bradley indicated that any concerns about him feeling out of place, given his relatively recent arrival in the Anfield dressing room, are no longer a problem.

“No, I feel ready. Probably at times last year I felt that but this year I’ve come in and I know the boys so well from last year. I’m ready to go and can’t wait for the season,” Bradley added.

Arne Slot’s New Style

After being sidelined at the beginning and end of last season due to injuries, maintaining good health during the pre-season was crucial.

“I feel really good, really fit and raring to go for the season now. It’s been a good pre-season, we’ve won basically every game we’ve played. I think that was one of my main goals in pre-season, making sure that I didn’t pick up any injuries,” said the youngster.

Bradley also appeared eager to emphasise that Slot’s style of football is distinct from the one he experienced during his debut season under Jürgen Klopp.

“There’s new ideas and stuff like that. I think it suits me as well so I’ve really enjoyed it and it’s been a good start,” he stated.

“Whenever we are attacking there’s more solidity behind us so if we do lose the ball we can regain it quick and attack again. I think it’s really good and I’ve really enjoyed it.”
