Liverpool Set to Pocket Huge Fee as Premier League Rivals Close in on £65m Transfer
Liverpool now set to receive an extra financial boost this summer.
According to Ben Jacobs on X (formerly Twitter), Dominic Solanke, a former Liverpool player now with Bournemouth, is currently involved in ‘advanced talks’ between the Cherries and Tottenham.
“Tottenham now in advanced talks with Bournemouth over a club-record move for Dominic Solanke.
“Solanke has a £65m release clause in his contract and Bournemouth determined to hold out for as close to that figure as possible.
“Spurs hopeful of coming to an agreement with negotiations ongoing.
“As talkSPORT reported on Thursday, Tottenham also have a concentrate interest in Brentford’s Ivan Toney should a deal for Solanke not be finalised.
The Merseysiders have a 20 percent sell-on clause stipulated in the contract that moved the English player to the south coast in 2019.
In the 2023/24 Premier League season, Solanke had a notable performance, netting 19 goals and delivering three assists across 38 games.
Liverpool Could Pocket £9m from Dominic Solanke Deal
According to The Athletic, if Spurs activate Bournemouth’s £65m release clause, Liverpool could potentially earn up to £9m from the deal.
This would be a timely financial boost as we intensify our efforts to secure Martin Zubimendi, whose release clause is £51.7m, and aim to acquire additional targets.
It’s unfortunate that Solanke’s time at Anfield didn’t pan out as hoped, though it’s understandable given the presence of stars like Bobby Firmino, Sadio Mane, and Mo Salah at that time.
Despite this, we wish our former striker all the best if his move to London materializes.
