“They Will Play”: Arne Slot Drops Double Liverpool Selection Hint for Manchester United Friendly
Liverpool will conclude their US tour with a match against their Premier League counterparts.
Arne Slot has indicated that Ibrahima Konate and Ryan Gravenberch are expected to be included in the starting lineup for this final pre-season friendly.
Since becoming the head coach at Anfield this summer, Slot has faced the challenge of managing a reduced squad. The absence of numerous senior players has been due to their participation in Euro 2024 and the Copa America.
Diogo Jota played a key role in Portugal’s advancement to the Euro 2024 quarter-finals and then joined Liverpool in the United States. He participated in the first half of their 2-1 victory over Arsenal in Philadelphia.
Ibrahima Konate of France and Ryan Gravenberch of the Netherlands have also joined Liverpool as they get ready to take on their strong rivals,
Manchester United, in Columbia, South Carolina this Sunday at 00:30 BST. Slot is excited about the increased options at his disposal and is eager to see Konate and Gravenberch perform.
Slot told LFCTV: “They will play like Diogo, 45 minutes against United. Pleased to see they are back, they came back in real good shape. [I’m] looking forward to seeing them in a game because I think both of them have shown they are very good players.”
Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joe Gomez, Virgil van Dijk, Cody Gakpo, Alexis Mac Allister, Alisson Becker, Darwin Nunez, and Luis Diaz are all scheduled to report back for duty when Liverpool return to Merseyside.
