Report: Liverpool Increase Asking Price for Player With 10 League Starts Last Season

Liverpool have significantly increased their asking price for Caoimhin Kelleher, who is anticipated to depart from Anfield this summer.

According to the Daily Mail, Liverpool now demand £35 million for Kelleher if he is to be sold this summer. The player has attracted considerable interest.

Kelleher has been vocal about his desire to leave Liverpool in search of regular first-team football. However, the Reds are making that prospect challenging.

The new asking price is £35 million for a player who made just 10 Premier League appearances last season, a notable increase from earlier reports.

HITC had previously reported a £15 million-plus valuation for Kelleher. It now seems Liverpool are seeking more than double that amount.

The Daily Mail reports that the fee could be prohibitive for many clubs, with Celtic ‘almost certainly priced out.’

However, Nottingham Forest, who had a £15m bid rejected in January, remain interested and have the funds to sign Kelleher if they decide he’s their first-choice goalkeeper.

This development follows Adrian’s rejection of a contract offer and his decision to join Real Betis. While this might not be a major setback, it complicates Liverpool’s goalkeeper situation.

Liverpool is poised to lose both their second and third-choice goalkeepers this summer, a predicament no club wants. This situation likely contributes to the increase in Kelleher’s asking price.

Liverpool will likely only entertain this scenario for a substantial fee. Given Forest’s sustained interest, it’s plausible they’ll come close to meeting it.

Kelleher’s performances for Liverpool last season were impressive, proving to many teams that he can be a first-choice player. Now, Liverpool plans to capitalize on that by cashing in.
